Getting started
Cartfilo installs like any other Shopify App Store app — no separate account, no API keys to manage yourself.
1. Install from the App Store
Search for Cartfilo in the Shopify App Store, or use your direct install link, and approve the requested scopes. Cartfilo requests read access to your products, inventory, and orders, plus customer lookup so it can recognize a returning shopper by email — it never requests write access to your catalog.
2. Choose a plan
Right after install you’ll land on a plan picker. Every plan, including Free, gets the full assistant — higher tiers raise your monthly message allowance and chat history retention. See Choosing a plan for the full breakdown, or the pricing page for the current table. You can change plans at any time from Billing.
3. Let catalog sync finish
After you pick a plan, Cartfilo pulls your current catalog into its own index so it can answer instantly without hitting Shopify’s API on every shopper message. This usually finishes within a few minutes for most catalogs; larger catalogs may take longer. Track progress from Settings → Catalog sync — see Catalog sync.
4. Confirm the widget is on
Cartfilo adds itself to your storefront as a theme app extension — there’s no template to edit. Confirm the app embed is toggled on under Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds, and that it’s named “Cartfilo” in that list.

5. Try it yourself
Open your storefront and type a real request into the widget, the way a shopper would — something like “a snack basket under 500” or “running shoes under 2000.” That’s the fastest way to confirm everything is wired up correctly before shoppers see it.
